The Gallery Hotel Recanati was born from the accurate restoration of an old building from the sixteenth century belonging to the Counts Percivalli - Broglio d’Ajano, which has undergone several transformations throughout the centuries, having become a seminary in 1700, and then a secondary school in the past few years.
The hotel is close to the cathedral and not far from the town museum Villa Colloredo Mels which permanently hosts the famous “Annunciation” by Lorenzo Lotto. Under the protective shade of the cathedral and its bell-tower, the noble palace of Counts Percivalli – Broglio d’Ajano contains the chapel in which the popular tenor Beniamino Gigli from Recanati started his singing career. In honour of our famous fellow-citizen we have created our Lounge Bar, the Café Opera.
